Free Club Coach Accreditation course for EVERY SA Country Coach
SA Country Basketball is pleased to offer every single basketball coach in SA Country a free Club Coaching Acreditation Course (Formerly Level 1). The course is usually conducted face to face over 6 hours and cost $100, but during the basketball lockout, SA Country are pleased to announce we will offer an online course to anyone who has coached within an SA Country Association or program over the last 12 months, or is looking to coach when the season goes back, absolutely free!
SA Country staff in collaboration with Basketball SA Manager of High Performance Services, Scott Butler have been working on modifying the delivery mode of the course, and have received Basketball Australia approval to deliver the Club Coach curriculum online via video conference software, with a few modifications to the assessment requirements.
How will it work?
Each Association will be allocated one week for their courses to be conducted. During that week there will be 3 courses on offer for coaches to register to. Courses delivered during the week will be split over 2 days (3 hours per day), and the course offered on the weekend will be a continuous 6 hour course. Coaches will be able to choose which course best suits them, but to ensure the quality of the course, there will be limited places available for each option. The course options will be as follows
Option 1: 6:00pm – 9:00pm Monday AND Tuesday
Option 2: 6:00pm – 9:00pm Wednesday AND Thursday
Option 3: 10:00 am – 4:00pm Saturday
Associations will advertise the courses to their members, and coaches will register directly with their association for one of the 3 options during their associations allocated week. Associations will then provide the list to SA Country who will distribute the link to join the video conference and attend the course
