Return to Train - Outdoors

Hi Everyone,
We hope you are well and staying safe in these challenging times.

As you are aware SA Government has released a road map for easing COVID-19 restrictions.  Please note we are in Step 1 of this road map, more specifically, regional travel and a return to sport training for outdoors are now permissible provided  we comply with the returning to Basketball training outdoors protocols.

In Step 1 there is a group limit of 10 participants in total per court, including two supervising adults, spectators are not permitted.  These participants must maintain social/physical distancing with no more than one person per 4sqm.  Team interactions must avoid unnecessary contact and comply with equipment, venue requirements and hygiene practices.  If a participant is feeling unwell they must not attend or participate in a training session.

We are currently reviewing a return to train and play for indoors in preparation for a transition into competition from June 8.  A resumption of competition will be subject to the easing of further restrictions, increase in group limits and the continued implementation of hygiene practices as we work towards minimal restrictions.

A risk assessment will need to be completed prior to returning to train outdoors which will be released upon receipt from BSA.

We recommend briefings in advance of return to training outdoors for players, parents, coaches and officials to be held to outline protocols.

We will continue to update Associations on receipt of information, please note information continues to change regularly in managing a return to sport.

If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact me on my mobile or via email.

Once the return to train and play indoors have been finalised we can schedule a Q&A zoom conference with Associations that would like to attend.

We thank you for your patience, compliance with restrictions and willingness to stop the spread.

Regards

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
