SA COUNTRY

U16 National Championships
Our U16 Girls and Boys teams finished a credible 4th and 9th respectively, an incredible achievement.  We believe the U16 Boys result is the highest finish since 2002.  These results are even more remarkable given the challenges both teams endured during their preparation with a change of personnel.  I had the pleasure of watching both teams play during the tournament and the manner in which the players, coaches and officials conducted themselves and responded to adversity on and off the court was admirable.  Their success was due to their preparation, commitment and team first approach.  Congratulations on a fantastic achievement and we look forward to your progress in future years representing SA Country.  A big shout out to the parents, coaches and officials that contributed to the team’s success.

That’s a wrap!
The U16 Championships concludes our representative season and we get a chance to do it all again!

Strategic Plan 2019- 2022
We recently conducted an internal review of our programs and services with a view to continuous improvement.  As a result of this process we proposed a systematic approach to player, coach and official development as well as developing strategies to achieve our objectives in accordance with our strategic pillars (Participation, High Performance, Facilities, Governance, Finance, Marketing, Member Support, Coaching and Officiating).  We are in the process of presenting this approach and strategies to Associations for feedback prior to implementation.  We look forward to working with Associations to achieve our objectives.

2019 Country Championships
The Council Executive met last Saturday and discussed the future dates for the Country Championships taking into the consideration feedback received from Associations.  The dates were determined subject to venues being available on these dates we hope to be in a position to announce the dates shortly.

Affiliation fees were another topic of discussion at the recent Council Executive meeting and it was determined in accordance with a previous decision fees will rise by CPI only.  As the process for collecting fees has changed Associations will be advised shortly to allow for the establishment of registration and payment online products.
