2018 Talent Identification Camps
The TI camps held over the two weeks of the school holidays saw SA Country’s brightest future stars come together at 2 locations over 8 days for the 2018 Talent Identification Camps. 212 athletes in total (97 girls and 115 boys) aged between 10 and 12 years old attended a 2 day camp in either Whyalla or Murray Bridge. The camp was delivered by SA Country development staff, and the athletes received coaching from 24 (14 male and 10 female) of the best coaches from regional South Australia. As well as being on the lookout for the next wave of basketball talent, the coaches delivered high standard trainings to help the athletes improve their fundamental skills, game sense, and understanding of the SA Country style of play.
The young athletes had a great time at these camps, and made new friends with other players from all over the state.
A big thank you to the Whyalla City Council and the Rural City of Murray Bridge Council for their support, and to the Whyalla and Murray Bridge Basketball Associations for their hospitality and volunteer hours, we couldn’t have put these camps together without your support. Finally, a big thank you to our volunteer coaches who gave up their time to create a dynamic and engaging training environment for our young athletes.
We hope all athletes enjoyed the camps as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you progress through our programs in the future!
