Skinner to Headline New Look Hawks

If you are looking for an impact player, why not grab one fresh off a breakout season in the WNBL. That’s exactly what the Ringwood Hawks have done with the signing of Bendigo Spirit Forward Demi Skinner.

Skinner, who is originally from South Australia, was recruited to Bendigo as a backup to some of the higher profile players, but surprised many with her ability to shoot the ball from inside and out. By mid-season she was a regular starter and consistently putting up impressive numbers.

“Demi has the ability to score in bunches and change a game in a hurry.” Hawks Head Coach Tim Mottin said.

“We will really need Demi to step up and be a consistent threat, even though she is still young she very composed.”

The Spirit season finished without a finals berth, but Skinner would be well please with her development finishing with averages of 9ppg and 3.5 rebounds in 21 minutes per game. Against the Townville Fire in December, Skinner went off for a career high 26 points and that’s the kind of performance the Hawks will be hoping to see in this seasons NBL1.

Skinner has joined her new teammates in pre-season and will be in attendance this Saturday night at Hawks Madness at The Rings.
