Healthy Clarke Great News For Hawks
Last season, Ringwood Hawk’s veteran Centre Shaun Clarke watched as his Club raised his number 24 jersey to the rafters of the Rings Stadium on the day he played his 300th Big V /NBL1 games. In reality though, it was a tough season for the popular Clarke who battled injuries all season. In 2020, Clarke hopes to remain healthy and plans return to his best form.
“Last year we just were unable to get 12 healthy players on the court for most of the season.” Clarke said.
“But this season we have more depth and it is exciting. We are working hard and will hopefully get a better run at it.”
Clarke’s numbers were down last year on his career averages but his 8ppg and 6.5 rebounds still gave the Hawks a consistent inside and outside threat. He also sent a reminder late in the season that he is still capable of dominating a game when against Dandenong he nailed an impressive 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
The Hawks will have plenty of height and strength with Clarke and Trevor Latham being joined by new import Ricardo Martin who can play inside and out. Matt Fennell and Adrien Sturt complete a front court that will compete with the League’s best.
