The Solomon Islands Police Force have started its preparations towards the 2023 Pacific Games here in the Solmon Islands with a command and control communication training.
The Police Commissioner Mr Frank Prendergast said the training will give officers ability to manage control operations in relation to issues such as public disorder, natural disasters and other events. Mr Prendergast said because of the importance of the Pacific Games, they are casting their eyes far ahead inorder to prepare well. He said the officers attending the training are from different police units with-in the force including the Professional Standard Internal Investigation (PSII), Close Personnel Protection CPP), and Police Response Team (PRT), officers from the provinces and Honiara Central are engaged.
The National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands office saw this as a step ahead and a very positive one in the law sector as everyone in Honiara and the Solomon Islands are working hand in hand to host the Pacific Games and welcomes Oceania in 2023.
