WOMEN by Adam Jones
In the second game of the Pioneers’ back to back, they face the Woodville Warriors. The Warriors find themselves in 7th spot but because of a tight ladder could go up to 2nd if results go their way. The Warriors are coming off a disappointing loss to the Sabres but could take positives from the strong performance of Teige Morrell. The Pioneers will have to stop her if they are any chance of winning this week. The Pioneers have found themselves up in 5th position, and a win will keep them above the Warriors.
Hang Time Prediction: Mount Gambier Pioneers
MEN by Daniel Renfrey
The Pioneers will go back-to-back over the weekend, facing off against Woodville a day after going head-to-head with the Eagles. The Warriors will be looking to capitalise on this, with the Pioneers most likely a bit more fatigued after going up against a top team. Key for the Warriors will be their rebounding ability, their 3-point shooting and their ability to play high-quality defence. If the Warriors can hit a few more shots from deep, crash the glass and find some success in dealing with Mt Gambier’s offensive threats then they give themselves a good chance of pulling off an upset. However, this is easier said than done and on a back-to-back a multi-faceted offence that is very hard to stop, as well as a gritty defence, is what the Pioneers may very well rely on to get them over the line.
