McDonalds FNBB Finals Night Recap

Last Friday night saw the conclusion of the McDonalds Friday Night Basketball competition for 2019. The 9-week competition saw 118 teams compete from 28 different schools across yr 5-6 and yr 7-8 grades. Additionally, we had 40+ referees control games, that were played across 9 different venues, which required 9 different floor controllers.

Each Friday Night is a mammoth undertaking with over a 1000 kids playing, and it couldn’t have happened without all the help, especially from Carol Bathurst organizing and training the referees, and Sam Watkins doing the weekly draw.

However, without the support of David Bond and McDonalds North Canterbury, we wouldn’t be able to make the school competition what it is today.
