Fiji win first game

THE Fiji Open Men's team finally got one in the bag on day two of competition overwhelming Cook Islands 65-27 at the National Indoor Stadium.

After their baptism of fire experience against New Zealand on Saturday, the Ralulu Robanakadavu led team showed more coordination.

Robanakadavu at goal defender put up a more improved performance and was a handful for Cooks shooter Clee Masters and Repaio Taia.

Team coach Venina Galuinadi said though it was a better performance but the team needed to show more cohesion to face up to the likes of Australia later in the day.

It is obvious that we lack the match experience but so far they are playing well.

The Fiji Men's Open faces Australia later in the evening, 8pm while the Cooks had no time to rest playing New Zealand at 1pm.
