Under-19 Division 2
SINCE losing to Werribee Districts in Round 4, Albion has strung together an impressive run of wins.
The Cats have won eight straight matches since that April loss and are currently sitting on top of the Under-19 Division 2 ladder.
Their latest win came at the weekend, when they defeated the Tigers by 85-points at JR Parsons Reserve.
Albion started the game well, but weren’t able to convert all of their opportunities in-front of goal.
They headed into the first break 10-points up, but had eight shots on goal to three, and should have been further in-front.
It was an even second term, with Albion going into half-time holding on to a 13-point lead.
The Cats turned up the pressure and intensity around the ball in the second-half.
The home side kicked 12 goals to one in the second-half to win to eventually win the match by a comfortable 85-point margin.
Albion had 10 different goal scorers, with James Leach the best of the lot, he booted four goals.
Joel Bettin and Brandon Reid also kicked three apiece.
For Werribee Districts, Chanse Peixoto was their most influential player, kicking two goals.
With four games remaining Albion are on top of the ladder and Werribee Districts sit in third spot.
The Albion versus Werribee Districts match was the only Under-19 Division 2 match played at the weekend as Wyndhamvale have forfeited their matches for the rest of the 2016 season.
In the next round of matches, Newport Power, fresh from a week off, will take on Sanctuary Lakes at Langshaw Reserve.
Werribee Districts and Albion will have the bye.
