CAROLINE Springs continued their strong start to the season with a comfortable 153-point win over Albanvale at Robert Bruce Oval.
The win for the Lakers was set up with six goals from Troy Manolis, and four each to Matt Chapman and Nathan Knuckey.
The Lakers set the win up in the first quarter kicking 9.5 to the Cobras’ just one major.
Albanvale have lost their way in the last three weeks coming back from the bye suffering a succession of 100-plus point defeats.
The second quarter saw the Cobras hit the scoreboard kicking three goals to the Lakers four, though the second half was all Caroline Springs, with the Lakers pilling on 15 goals to one.
Chapman was judged best afield for the Lakers in their win.
North Footscray travelled to Howqua Reserve on Saturday to take on Manor Lakes. This was another one sided affair.
The Devils continued to pile on the goals as they ran out 167-point winners. The Devils started off the strongest kicking nine goals in the first quarter. The Storm managed to boot just one goal in the first term.
Tyren Montebruno added another five goals to his season tally of 14 majors, he led the Devils charge.
Corey Edwards also saw plenty of the footy as did Sam Kater.
What was impressive about this win for the Devils was their ability to kick an 18 goal second half and limit the Storm to just four for the second half and seven for the whole game.
For the Storm, Jackson Lesko kicked three goals, while Ty Priest got plenty of the footy.
In the last game of the round West Footscray hosted Glen Orden in another one sided affair at Shorten Reserve which saw the Hawks cruise to a 180-point victory.
The first quarter was a close knit affair as the Hawks led at the first break by just 24 points. The second quarter was one way traffic for the away side, with the Hawks kicking 9.7 to take a handy 84-point lead heading into the main break.
Six goals each to Josh MacDonald and Jonathan Miller helped the Hawks as they booted 18 second half goals. Mark Pozzuto saw plenty of the ball and also helped himself to three goals of his own for Glen Orden.
For the Roosters Alex Bray kicked two goals while there was singles to Gabriel Mellado and Angus Rodda.
Yarraville-Seddon had the bye this week, they will take on Albanvale on Saturday.
