Coaches Report-Rd.17 vs Chelsea Gulls
Our home game this week promises to be a very intense and hard fought contest as we try to fight off a pack of teams chasing down 6th spot on the ladder.
We currently hold 6th position and will need to be right at the top of our game to shut the finals door on Chelsea who are currently in 10th place and needing to win all remaining 3 games to be any chance of making the finals.
Chelsea are a very tall, athletic and skilled team and will not be an easy assignment.
They have great scoring power led by their import Corey Standerfer who averages 26.6 pts & 11.7 rebs per game, whilst Matt Brasser 13.2ppg, Matt Williams 13.2ppg, Sibit Tot 9.9ppg & Prince Del 8.6ppg all provide an even and consistent supporting cast.
Last week we were nowhere near our best basketball and paid the price for a very poor half of basketball which saw us well beaten in a number of areas across the 2nd & 3rd quarters. Disappointingly we never reached the required level of intensity until the last quarter and will need to ensure we execute our game plan across all 4 quarters this week.
With much more at stake we will need to display more energy & urgency as we look to bring a more focused & disciplined effort at both ends of the floor to grind out a very important win.Gators fans will also need to play their part, last home game you were fantastic but this week we need you to be even louder, so spread the word.
