MINCHERTON HEADS QUARTET OF TIGER SIGNINGS

The Zambrero Willetton Tigers inaugural NBL1 West season has been boosted by the re-signing of four highly talented youngsters headlined by guard Connor Mincherton for the 2021 NBL1 West season.

Mincherton who is a product of the Tigers junior development system and also a member of the WA Metro State U18 gold winning team and one of the most exciting young prospects in the league is excited about the team’s prospects for the upcoming season.

“After coming off a D League championship last year, I'm excited to see if we can translate that success to the NBL1 level in the upcoming season. With a lot of us young boys coming through along with new coach Adam Nener, it'll be interesting to see how the team comes together with the savvy vets like Andrew Black and Damien Scott. Having been a Willetton player through my whole junior career it was a no brainer to sign back with the Tigers for 2021 and continue to build upon what was a solid West Coast classic last year” Mincherton said.

Joining Mincherton in signing with the Zambrero Willetton Tigers for next season are emerging Tigers youngsters in Travis Fee, Roosevelt Williams Jnr and Lachlan Evans.

Zambrero Willetton Tigers Head Coach Adam Nener had the following to say about the four recent signings “It’s a really great feeling to have Connor, Travis, Lachie and Ro Jnr all signed for the upcoming NBL1 West season. All four are Willetton juniors who are ready for the next challenge” said Nener.

“Connor just keeps improving every year, adding a little more to his game and we really can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for him. His shooting ability is off the charts and could possibly turn into one of the best guards in the league is he keeps going”.

“Trav is an athletic guard who continues to work on his game and just wants to get better every day. We have a pretty young group and for everyone to see how hard he works can only be positive”.

“Lachie has developed in a great defensive guard with is toughness and a no quit attitude, he’s a player every coach would love to have, a team first player that probably needs to back himself a bit more on offense”.

“Ro Jnr is a dynamic guard who completed his high school at Box Hill in Melbourne and decided to return home to Willetton to begin his NBL1 career, like Lachie he has a great toughness on defence and is looking to expand his game further”.
