NSW 2020 - 2021 State Championship Update

by John de Montfort

The 2020 - 2021 NSW Flying 11 State Championships gets underway this weekend hosted by the Bayview Yacht Racing Association (BYRA).

We are expecting about 50 boats to be competing with approximately 10 competing in the Transition Fleet and the rest in the open fleet.

Please be advised that the Welcome Letter from BYRA has been uploaded to the State Championships Home Page and can also be viewed through the link below.

All competitors and their parents are asked to read this letter as it details where parking is available and the restrictions that have been imposed on the club and all recreational sports activities as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.

In particular please note that the club canteen will not be open and there will be no BBQ at the end of the race, so please bring your own lunch and other snacks.

I take this opportunity to remind all that we are still obliged to observe social distancing and avoid congregating in groups. Over the winter the Police raded one of the local soccer fields and handed out $ 1 500.00 fines to any one watching the games who were standing within 1.5 metres of each other. We do not want to receive any personal fines or cause the club to be fined. So please follow the advice from the Club Marshals.

I can also confirm that Hugh Stodart has secured sponsorship from Allen, the spomsors of last years Nationals. Bow stickers will be available at registration.

The forecast is promising with a building Southerly forecast for Saturday.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
