SWQ Thunder SAP Academy 2015 - Registration for Trials

RE - Skills Acquisition Program
- SWQ Thunder SAP Academy 2015

In  relationship with FFA & FQ, we are privileged to continue  the SWQ Thunder Skills Acquisition Program [SAP] into 2015.

The SAP is designed by the FFA and plays a pivotal role in the building blocks of player development. This phase is designed to develop the ‘functional game skills’ and technical ability to provide a foundation for the next phase of development.

The Skills Acquisition Phase focuses on 4 Core Skills -

 1. FIRST TOUCH – Controlling the ball with all allowed body parts

2. STRIKING THE BALL – this includes all forms of striking the ball such as short/long passing, shooting, & crossing.

3. 1 v 1 – all moves, feints and accelerations to get past and away from an opponent

4. RUNNING WITH THE BALL – At speed (with a lot lot of space) or ‘dribbling’ (in tight areas), this includes techniques for protecting the ball and changing direction.

A group of 12 players in each age group will be selected to attend SAP training sessions  from February to September in 2015.

Dates/Times/Venues & Costs will be determined in the new year and advised to successful players.

Players will be required to register and play local fixtures with a local community club to be eligible for our SAP program.

I invite all players born 2005 and 2004  to register your interest in attending trials for the U10 Boys, U11 Boys & U10/11 Girls SAP Programs by clicking this link below
