Brisbane Roar star Brandon Borrello’s advice for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland U23 All-Stars is to put their stamp on Saturday’s exhibition match at QSAC.

Borrello blazed a trail for promising young state-based players with a breakthrough 2014/15 season, hitting six goals in all competitions.

The 20-year-old youth team product challenged his opposition to make similar headlines in this weekend’s highly-anticipated clash.

“I think it’s great exposure for the U23 players to play against us,” Borrello said.

“I’d look at it as a big chance to show what I’m made of. I think it’s a great opportunity.”

Borrello entered the last Hyundai A-League season on the back of four goals in five PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland appearances as part of Brisbane Roar Youth.

The Young Socceroos representative believes the stint steeled him for a gruelling top-flight campaign.

“I still had to work hard for those goals, I was still playing against senior men,” he said.

“The physicality of the NPL to the A-League is quite similar if not even more, but it’s more of a mental game (at professional level).

“I’ve had to learn a lot and I’ve taken a lot of positives and a lot of negatives from the NPL and worked on them in the A-League.”

Saturday’s match forms the first part of a blockbuster double header at QSAC as Moreton Bay United meet Edgeworth Eagles in a PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues Elimination Final.

Borrello is excited to step up preparations for the new Hyundai A-League campaign against a team full of fellow bright young prospects.

“I think it will be great. The pitch looks perfect, they’re going to be able to play some good footy hopefully and it’ll be great for those teams (Moreton Bay and Edgeworth) to get a bit of exposure,” the attacker said.

“I’m sure it’s not just Brisbane Roar bringing the crowd, I’m sure it’s the Finals Series match as well so it will be good.”
