Western Pride mowed down Brisbane Roar Youth 6-0 on Saturday night, largely thanks to Harrison Sawyer's opportunistic hat-trick.

Sawyer returned to Pride recently after spending time in the Hyundai A-League with the Newcastle Jets.

The big striker certainly made his presence felt, with an early penalty followed by two instictive finishes.

The first goal arrived from the spot inside three minutes, and Pride notched three further goals before half time to ensure a comfortable evening at Briggs Road.

Pride travel to Brisbane Olympic in Round 14 looking for back-to-back wins for the first time in 2017, while Young Roar will host Moreton Bay United.

Key Moments

3’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE - Harrison Sawyer converts from the spot after Dylan Wenzell-Halls was fouled in the box.

11’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE - Hayden McHenery’s long throw is cleared only as far as Nielen Brown, who thumps the ball past Freke.

23’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE - Wenzel-Halls slips between two defenders in the area to gather a pass and fire the ball past Freke.

28’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE -  Duckworth runs onto a Sawyer through ball and neatly strikes past Macklin Freke.

85’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE - Sawyer sticks out a leg at a searing McHenery cross and the ball flies into the back of the net.

90’ - GOAL FOR PRIDE - Sawyer grabs his hat-trick when Cameron Crestani’s shot is blocked into his path, leaving the big striker with a simple tap home.
