Sunshine Coast stars Samara Christmas and Danielle White are eager to boost their Westfield W-League prospects with strong performances for the PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Women's Select on Sunday.

The pair have both spent recent months training with Brisbane Roar but will suit up against Belinda Wilson's side when the two teams meet in a friendly at Goodwin Park.

While Christmas (above) expects her role will remain as a train-on player, the striker believes being part of the Women's Select squad is an ideal opportunity to further press her claims.

"That's what I'm so excited for, and I'm familiar with a couple of the girls that will be playing this weekend too so that should be good in terms of team cohesion," Christmas said.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it."

Christmas caught the eye this season with 23 goals in Fire's run to the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Preliminary Final.

The Sunshine Coast local believes her recent recognition is tribute to the region's improving prospects.

"I reckon it's a big thing for me coming from the Sunshine Coast, finally proving we have some talent here I guess," she said.

" Besides being asked to train with Roar, this (selection is) definitely up there. We haven't had it before in previous years as well.

"I'm excited about it, it should be really fun."

Christmas will hope to profit from the service of Fire teammate and fellow Roar hopeful Danielle White (below).

The English midfielder is likewise looking to make their most of her selection in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Women's Select squad.

" It's been a really good experience (training with Roar). Definitely a step-up and getting to do it alongside Samara has been really good," White said.

" Hopefully we take our chances while we get them. It's definitely a good level to play at."

White said she will draw plenty of inspiration from her club side's stunning late-year run, which included a seven-match unbeaten streak, for Sunday's task.

" We were in pretty good form at the end of the season at Fire," she said.

"Definitely looking to bring that across and hopefully make a good impact for this team against Roar and see if we can pull off a result."
