Major moves are set to be made in PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Round 9 as the live stream match heads to Goodwin Park in one of several blockbusters.

Redlands United FC v Brisbane City FC
Friday, 8 May / Cleveland Showgrounds / 7.00PM

Redlands United will hope their season continues to click into life when Brisbane City arrive at Cleveland Showgrounds in the weekend’s opener.

While a tense affair is almost assured between two teams yet to taste PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland victory this year, the Red Devils will have taken considerable confidence from their Westfield FFA Cup ousting of Olympic FC.

The match will likewise be viewed as an opportunity to make ground on the rest of the competition by City, who have managed just two draws from seven matches.

Antonio Murray will again be their man tasked with securing three points.

Palm Beach SC v Brisbane Strikers FC
Saturday, 9 May / Mallawa Complex / 5:00PM

Saturday evening on the Gold Coast sees Palm Beach SC welcome a challenger to the throne in Brisbane Strikers.

Last weekend’s washout robbed the visitors of a chance to respond to their first league loss of the season, but there’s few better ways to prove title credentials than to knock off the double-winners at home.

Two teams have already toppled Sharks this season, although both results came away from their Mallawa Complex fortress.

Returning home for the first time since March against in-form opposition provides Grae Piddick’s side the perfect opportunity to instil fear in the chasing pack.

Moreton Bay United FC v Western Pride FC
Saturday, 9 May / Wolter Park / 6:00PM

While one keenly-anticipated clash plays out on the Gold Coast, another is set to simultaneously thrill Brisbane.

Western Pride have arguably been the season’s greatest surprise, gathering four wins and a draw from seven, and have the chance to make a truly profound impression when they visit leaders Moreton Bay United.

Jets surged back to top spot in last weekend’s only match with a sparkling 4-1 defeat of FNQ Heat in Cairns, where Jordan Farina continued his fine form with a fifth goal of the term.

The attacking midfielder must be watched closely if Pride are to spring an upset.

Sunshine Coast FC v South West Queensland Thunder FC
Sunday, 10 May / Sunshine Coast Stadium / 2:15PM

Sunshine Coast are the other major movers of 2015, notching four wins and a draw in seven matches after last year’s eighth-place finish.

Fire could conceivably rise as high as second by Sunday night if they secure all three points against the winless SWQ Thunder.

The hosts’ impressive run of three straight victories will be tough to overcome for the visiting Toowoomba team, who did turn in an improved defensive effort against champions Palm Beach a fortnight ago.

A weather-enforced week off has afforded Thunder time to prepare for the tasks ahead, which include a midweek Westfield FFA Cup qualifier.

Olympic FC v FNQ FC Heat
Sunday, 10 May / Goodwin Park / 3:00PM

Two of last year’s top four teams complete Round 9 when an Olympic FC side stinging from their Westfield FFA Cup defeat host FNQ Heat, who have won just once in their past five fixtures.

Despite the disappointment of last week’s Cup loss, Olympic are on a four-match winning run in the league and will be boosted by the return of experienced defender Matt Mundy.

Heat were undone 4-1 by Moreton Bay last weekend to make it just one win in five at home but, having taken four points from three away matches, won’t be daunted by a trip south.

Northern Fury FC v Brisbane Roar FC Youth

This match has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a late date.
