Brisbane Roar Youth’s Lachlan Jackson became the latest PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland player to make his Hyundai A-League debut on Wednesday night.

Jackson came off the bench for Roar in the 84th minute in the clash against Melbourne Victory at Suncorp Stadium, however was unable to prevent his side going down 2-1 to the league leaders.

Jackson has represented Young Roar in both PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland and Foxtel National Youth League competition in recent years and is former Buderim Wanderers junior.

Despite plying his trade in central defence, the 20-year-old has scored twice in his eleven PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland appearances.

Jackson is just one of several Young Roar talents to experience the bright lights of the Hyundai A-League since the club's first PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland campaign in 2014.

Former Young Roar PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland players to have made the step up include Brandon Borello, Devante Clut, Shannon Brady and Jai Ingham.

Roar's Hyundai A-League rivals have also drawn upon stand-out PlayStation 4 NPL Queensalnd performers in recent seasons including former Moreton Bay United defender Joshua Brindell-South (Wellington Phoenix FC), former Olympic FC midfielder Ross Archibald (Melbourne City FC), and former Northern Fury striker Braedyn Crowley (Newcastle United Jets FC).

Jackson was partnered by fellow Young Roar product James Donachie in the backline in the closing minutes of Wednesday's match.

Donachie said he was pleased to see Jackson make his Hyundai A-League debut and backed him to continue to impress if given another chance.

“I’ve known LJ for a while now and he’s been hanging out to get a game,” Donachie told Brisbane Roar's official club website.

“It was great to see him run on and I was lucky enough to be there next to him,” he concluded.

Jackson remains in contention for another Hyundai A-League appearance as Roar against face Victory this Saturday night at Suncorp Stadium.

Meanwhile, Young Roar will line-up against FNQ FC Heat at Perry Park on Sunday afternoon in their next PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland fixture.
