Strikers Start Pre-Season Firing

Brisbane Strikers kicked off their pre-season with a bang on Saturday night - defeating Moggill FC 6-0 at Bellbowrie Sports Club.
Attacking dynamo Jheison Macuace netted twice from the penalty spot in the first half on his way to scoring a hat-trick against the fourth-tier Capital League One club.
Jesse Weimers, who has been promoted to Strikers senior set-up this season from the Under 18 squad, opened the scoring for Strikers ten minutes into the contest.
Macuace’s spot-kicks bookended a 30th minute goal from new recruit Trent Clulow to give Strikers a near unassailable four goal advantage by half-time.
Substitute Luke Marsh scored shortly after the restart before Macuace sealed his haul, and the result, just prior to the hour.
The match served as the first hit-out in Strikers colours for former Sunshine Coast FC players Greig Henslee and Jed Zanos, as well as former Fire coach Kevin A'herne-Evans.
In the curtain raiser, Strikers Youth Men also triumphed 6-0.
Strikers Senior Men will continue their pre-season preparations against Brisbane Premier League outfit Logan Lightning in the BLK Silver Boot on Tuesday night at Lions FC Stadium.
