Veseljko Graovac scored Corio’s only goal for the night while Sinisa Vukadinovic was sent off for the home side. The game ended up going Surf Coast’s way, however, as the visitors returned home to Torquay with all three points courtesy of goals by Cailin Mellberg and Oier Salegi.

As a result of the untimely loss, Corio has now fallen to 8th position on the ladder.

Also on Friday night, Surfside Waves hosted Drysdale in a must win game for both sides at the Shell Road Reserve in Ocean Grove.

A brace from Matthew Sheen as well as a goal from Mathew Kirk saw the Waves come away with another valuable three points as they defeated the visitors from the Bellarine 3-0.

Surfside remains in 2nd position on the current standings with 21 points whilst Drysdale are 6th with 13 points.

At Lara Recreation Reserve on Sunday, Barwon Heads took on Lara United.

Cas Lawrence, Eric Lawrence and Dylan Weeks both scored a brace apiece, while Tristan McGrath and Joel Matuch netted a goal each which led to Lara running out convincing 8-0 victors.

The result means Lara United is in 7th spot on the table with 12 points while Barwon Heads remains in 9th spot with 7 points.

Barwon hosted Deakin Ducks at Grovedale Reserve and it was the home side that came away with the three points as they defeated the visiting Ducks 6-1.

Jordan Fletcher-Blain, James Nichols both scored a goal each while Oliver Hunniford and Cooper Mccormack scored a brace to contribute to their teams 6 goals.

Barwon are 5th on the current table, now just 3 points behind 4th place Deakin.

In the final game of the round, the undefeated, top of the table Geelong Rangers easily accounted for bottom placed Breakwater 6-1 at Myers Reserve.

Matthew Long recorded a miraculous five goal haul for the Rangers while Scott Davison also contributed with one goal to bring their team’s tally to six for the afternoon.

Ryan Hamers scored Breakwater’s only goal for the game.

Rangers are now six points ahead of second placed Surfside and still have a game in hand. Breakwater, meanwhile, find themselves at the other end of the standings in last spot with just one point.
