FOOTBALL Federation Victoria (FFV) is working with several clubs in Geelong to increase the female participation rates in the sport locally. As such, Geelong Rangers Soccer Club will be hosting an all-female Grassroots/MiniRoos coaching course in early October.

This course has the same outcomes and content as the old Grassroots Football Certificate, it has simply been renamed to reflect the association with AIA Vitality MiniRoos. It must be noted that it doesn’t cost anything to attend the cost!

Known as the ‘Discovery Phase’, the three hour course is designed for coaches training 5-9 year olds and is fully practical and encourages the coach to develop practices that are based on FUN.

The emphasis is on natural development i.e. learning by PLAYING football. No coaching but organising FUN football exercises is the key to helping players build a love for the game.

Another highlight of the course is that the coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips and hints on building a football culture in a completely practical setting.

When: Saturday 8^th October 2016, 9am – 12pm

Where: Geelong Rangers, Myers Reserve Bell Post Hill
