Stadium Scoring and FIBA Organizer showcased at World Children’s Games

SportingPulse International’s FIBA Organizer and Stadium Scoring solutions have been showcased this week (April 24-27) at the World Children’s Games in Ankara, Turkey.

Ankara is playing host to 16 International Under 14 teams participating in the 3-on-3 basketball. The Turkish Basketball Federation, on behalf of the World Children’s Games organising committee, is running the event. Teams from Europe, the Middle East and as far away as Mali have attended the four day tournament.

Stadium Scoring is being used at the event for the first time on the International level, and the first time with 3-on-3. The solution enables the electronic management of game scores and results courtside, and the integration of that information with the competition management system, FIBA (the International Basketball Federation) Organizer.

Stadium scoring means that participants score games electronically, not on paper, using touch screen, notebook or PDA type technology.

Volunteers from the Turkish Basketball Federation received a short training session before the opening day and have fully embraced the solution. By using Stadium Scoring and FIBA Organizer the organizers have efficiently managed results and statistics while enabling participants, coaches and parents from around the world to view their results, statistics and ladders online.

Using a FIBA Organizer website the Federation has also generated tournament news, photos and match reports to compliment the tournament results. You can check out all the results at ankara3on3.fiba.com

Basketball Tournament Director Cem Sencan said that FIBA Organizer is an incredible solution for 3-on-3 basketball. “FIBA Organizer is helpful because it provides game information directly for teams after games, it is very convenient to have results and standings available online. Coaches, players and parents can check results right after the game”

“We registered over 70% of teams and their players before they arrived in Turkey through the FIBA Organizer Online membership, this meant we knew rosters and were able to setup the competition prior to their arrival,” concluded Sencan.

Volunteer Stadium Scoring user Burhan Mehmet Ozdemir, scored over 20 games during the tournament and stated, “the program is quiet simply and easy to use, I was able to learn it quickly and its interface is very intuitive.”

Alper Oktay managed the tournament operations and results using FIBA Organizer, “It is easy to use and has all the functions required for organizers, teams can also obtain all the reports they require. FIBA Organizer is a perfect tool to manage the entire lifecycle of basketball competitions,” he said.

The World Children’s Games are being held in Ankara for the first time with 3000 representatives from 90 countries participating in 13 disciplines.

Stadium Scoring and FIBA Organizer are features of a suite of solutions available to National Federations through a partnership with FIBA. For more information visit www.fibaorganizer.com or www.sportingpulseinternational.com
