FIXTURES/GAME TIMES:

Please check game times regularly as occasionally changes to the draw will need to be made.

There are two ways to check your game times each week:

  1. Install the “Game Day” app from Sports TG on your smart phone or device. This is the simplest way to stay up-to-date with your team’s fixtures, results and position on the ladder.  You can save your teams as favourites and get all the information you need at the touch of a button.

  2. Go the Caloundra Basketball website (the quickest way is to google Caloundra Basketball. On the website click on “Please click for fixtures and results” (pictured here). A new tab will open with competitions for all Sunshine Coast Basketball fixtures. Click on the correct age group selecting fixture, results or ladder. You can see the upcoming games or by clicking on your team’s name, a screen will appear for just your team showing player statistics for the season and by then clicking on the word “Fixtures” download fixtures for the season

COACHES AND MANAGERS:

ALL junior teams must nominate a coach and manager.

Each senior team must nominate a Captain/contact person.

Each team’s coach/manager or contact will be given a list of players and contact details. By registering with Caloundra Basketball, you agree form this information to be provided.

SUPERVISION OF JUNIORS:

Adult supervision of ALL players under the age of 15 is required. If you are unable to be with your child before, after or during a game please organise for another adult to supervise them. Caloundra Basketball Committee members can not provide supervision of juniors.

REFEREEING:

Respect of referees is expected by all players and spectators. Abuse of referees will NOT be tolerated. We ask that everyone remembers that referees are human and whilst you may not agree with all of their decisions – the referees’ decisions are final.

Without referees basketball games cannot be played.

Caloundra Basketball is always seeking additional referees and has implemented a referee supervision/training program. If you would like to discuss participating in our referee roster and referee development program please email us.

MATCH SCORING:

Caloundra Basketball scores all games using iPads generously donated by Sunshine Coast Council. This means team and player statistics are available to players/parents for the entire season. Statistics can be viewed by either using the Game Day app. or from our website as noted above.

Junior games require 2 scorers for each match (iPad Scorer and Game Clock/Scoreboard). Senior games require 3 scorers for each match (iPad Scorer, Game Clock/Scoreboard and Shot Clock)

JUNIORS: Every team MUST supply 1 scorer for games to commence. Delays to commencement of games due to non-supply of a scorer will result in penalties as set out in the junior game rules for

SENIORS: The association provides paid scorers for all senior games. Scorers are paid $5.00 per game. If you or someone else would like to score for the seniors game please email your details and availability (eg: I can score for every Swish Kebabs’ game) to caloundrabasketball@hotmail.com so a roster can be created.

LEARNING TO SCORE: Let us know if you need some “scoring lessons”. Caloundra Basketball has competent scorers for each score bench position who are happy to sit through some games with you to teach you to score – just let us know.
