Gold Nugget Junior Development Camp, 2012
Congratulations to Wangaratta basketballers Monique Szeligiewicz, Jack Jenkin, Liam Wright, Jordan Storer, Harry Smart and Jalen Barker who participated in the Gold Nugget Junior Development Camp in Bendigo on October 13th and 14th. Wangaratta coaches Jacqui and Emma Henry also attended the camp. The Wangaratta basketball community would like to thank Jacqui and Emma for their involment.
Special congratulations to Jack, Liam and Jalen who were selected to attend the Southern Cross Basketball Challenge in Ballarat and to Harry who was selected to attend the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup in Albury. Both these events will take place in January 2013.
The Gold Nugget Camp marks the end of the Under 14 Regional Basketball Academy Program which involved weekly training sessions and 2 overnight camps in 8 Regional areas around the State during terms 2 & 3. Players were selected into Regional Academies from the U14 Skills Days held in February this year.
Over 430 players were part of the 2012 Basketball Victoria Country Regional Academy Program.
The Gold Nugget camp will be attended by approximately 80 boys & 80 girls as well as 40 coaches & 6 Managers.
