TERM 3 - BASKETBALL PROGRAMS

City of Sydney Basketball Association is BACK after a looooong hiatus due to COVID-19! And we are excited to have all our development programs up and running again in Term 3!

Learn to Play (5-12 year olds)

City of Sydney Basketball Association’s Learn to Play classes are designed for 5 – 12-year olds in a fun and inclusive basketball environment for children of all abilities. The weekly program is designed to learn the fundamental skills of basketball through warm up games, skill activities and modified game play, all delivered by CSBA accredited coaches.

Classes are run on Monday afternoons at South Sydney High School, Maroubra, Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at Comets Stadium, Alexandria.

Class Types:
Rookie class - for beginner players aged between 5 - 8 years old
Starter class - for players aged between 9 - 12 years old (beginner - moderate level)
Girls Only class - for girls only aged between 5-12 years old (beginner - moderate level)
Cost: $100 for 9 weeks

Comets Shooting School (10-17 year olds)

The Shooting School is a high intensity program designed to give athletes the necessary fundamentals on perfecting the shot and improving accuracy from all areas. If you want to learn how to maximize the amount of shots you can get up in a given amount of time, perfect your technique, and be confident in putting up a shot any spot around the ring, then register below.
THIS PROGRAM IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS.

The 9 week program will be run by Sydney Comets Development Manager Paul Mellett and other experienced coaches. All coaches have a valid working with children check. The program includes live video analysis providing quick visual feedback and learning for players.

COST:
New Participant: $250
Returning Participant: $225
TIME: 4:30pm (for a 4:45pm start)-5:45pm (1 hour)
WHERE: Perry Park Recreational Centre (BEHIND COMETS STADIUM)

WHO MAY ATTEND?
Boys & Girls aged 10-17 years old with basketball experience who play either local competition, school or representative.
Limited to 40 participants.

All players are to bring your own basketball, a full drink bottle and wear suitable footwear and attire.

Parents please note the Comets Stadium car park is closed to the public and only street parking is provided. Green Square is the closest train station (10 minutes walk.)
PLEASE NOTE FRIDAY NIGHT LOCAL COMPETITION FIXTURES WILL NOT BE ADJUSTED TO ACCOMMODATE SHOOTING SCHOOL.

City Basketball Academy (12-17 years) 

The City Basketball Academy is open to all junior domestic and representative players male and female aged between 12-17, the program is aimed to focus on further developing player's skills and decision making. 

When does it start?
Term 3 will run from the following dates:
Girls TUESDAY mornings – 21st July - 15th September
Boys WEDNESDAY mornings – 22nd July - 16th September

Cost:
$160 for returning participant
$199 for new members (includes reversible training singlet.)

Who's running it?
The program will be under the direction of CSBA Development Manager Paul Mellett and Shaun Roger, along with a team of representative coaches and guest appearances from high profile coaches. All coaches in the program have a WWCC.

What do I bring?
All players will be required to bring your own basketball and drink bottle to each session.
