EDJBA IS GOING CASHLESS
EDJBA IS GOING CASHLESS FOR SUMMER 2019-20
The EDJBA will become cashless on game days as of Summer 2019-20 season. That is, the $8.50 player game fee will no longer be collected at halftime at the venues, instead, the clubs will collect the game day fees upfront along with club registration fees at the beginning of the season or if a club chooses can collect the game day fees at determined intervals of the season.
A cash-based match day payment system was once the only option. Today, it is no longer the only option and it is not the best option. Cash has served us well, but it is time to change to a more efficient system. This would bring the EDJBA in line with most other junior sporting competitions, where participants pay a single, upfront registration fee that also includes game fees, for the season.
The major benefits of being cashless on game days are:
- Improved safety for the administrators/venue managers holding and transporting large amounts of cash
- Reduced risk of fraud (and/or human error)
- Reduces match day administration for team managers
EDJBA Finals will still remain as a team sheet payment and door entry fees will still be collected.
Each EDJBA club will be implementing registrations differently and it is best to contact your member club if you have any questions regarding the process
