ROUND SIXTEEN: Forestville Eagles v South Adelaide Panthers

WOMEN by Kieren Vartuli

The gap between first and second place is beginning to grow and the Eagles have an opportunity once again close it as they face the struggling South Adelaide Panthers. Coming off the wrong end of an upset, Forestville will be putting on a clinic with their wide spread of offensive options against the 10th seeded Southerners. Defensively, the Eagles will aim to silence McKendrick and Saunders, two prolific scorers who are more than able to change the projected outcome. The last time these sides faced, Forestville walked off the court 3-point victors behind Chelsea Roberts’ 20-point evening. Both the Eagles and Panthers had 3-players in double figures exhibiting their scoring options but it was the Eagles who prevailed overall. Despite the potential matchups, the problems South have faced since their last meeting may be too much to contain a hungry Forestville.

Hang Time Prediction: Forestville Eagles

MEN by Daniel Renfrey

Forestville cruised to a 16-point victory in what was a relatively straightforward game for them against the Bearcats in Round 15. The team’s defence was suffocating at all positions and they also covered each other very well. Teys was the standout for the side, with 32 points, four assists and six rebounds, and he also had good support from Mays. The Panthers will need to be at their very best to be a chance in this one, especially after their 30-point drumming at the hands of Woodville. Allmon was great for his side, shooting 12/22 from the field and tallying 29 points and 15 rebounds. However, he didn’t get enough help and the Panthers defence was too fragile. This should be another straightforward win for the Eagles if they play their usual game.
