All men's and women's NPL matches to be live streamed

Curtin University and Football West Hyundai NTC will get the inaugural NPL Women's season under way on Friday

Football West is pleased to announce that all matches in the 2020 men’s and women’s NPL competitions will be live streamed.

All of the men’s NPL U20s games will also be shown live, which means more than 150 matches will be broadcast on the Football West Facebook and YouTube pages this season.

Football West Chief Football Officer Jamie Harnwell said it was a great way to launch the new women’s top-flight competition.

“There is already a buzz around the female game in WA on the back of this new competition and Australia and New Zealand winning hosting rights for the 2023 Women’s World Cup. We saw the huge media interest when Sam Kerr was here last week,” he said.

“Now the game will get even greater exposure, with all the top-flight matches to be live streamed.

“The men’s NPL and U20s comps were live streamed last season and that proved really popular. It gives the local talent fantastic exposure and also allows clubs to promote their sponsors and advertisers.”

The first matches to be live streamed for the 2020 season will be this Friday night. In the men’s competition, Bayswater City face champions Perth SC at Frank Drago Reserve (kick-off 7pm), while in the women’s NPL Curtin University entertain Football West Hyundai NTC at Edinburgh Oval (8.30pm).

The remaining Round One men’s NPL games will be played on Saturday, while the rest of the women’s NPL fixtures for Round One are on Sunday.
