Armadale U20 coach Peter Lord has taken the reins of the PS4 National Premier Leagues first team ahead of this weekend’s double header at Alfred Skeet Reserve.

On Saturday, Lord will be in charge for the PS4 NPL WA clash against Perth Glory before Monday’s round four Westfield FFA Cup clash against Shamrock Rovers.

Lord has stepped into the caretaker role and will be assisted by Kevin Brophy following the departure of Lee Bamber, who held the position as head coach for three seasons.

Bamber’s decision to step down, which was based on work and family commitments, has allowed the club to take a new approach.

Lord said he was prepared to continue in the job for as long as necessary.

“If they can find someone better or more experienced then I’ll do it until then,” he said.

“It might be a little bit of an audition but I don’t feel any pressure because I’ve got a lot of support. If I do well hopefully they’ll keep me on.

“I want whatever is best for the club. If I get six weeks or six years, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”

The club thanked Bamber for his hard work and dedication.

In other games, Floreat Athena will travel to Dalmatinac Park where they take on Cockburn City in what will be a rematch of the recent Night Series final.

ECU Joondalup will host PS4 NPL WA champions Bayswater City, while Balcatta will face Subiaco at Grindleford Reserve.

Inglewood United will go head-to-head with Perth SC at Inglewood Stadium and Sorrento will make use of home comfort in their clash with Stirling Lions.
