Bayswater City will get the revamped NPL WA season under way with a Friday night match against reigning champions Perth SC.

The clash between the only two sides to have won the league in the NPL era will take place at Frank Drago Reserve on July 3.

The remainder of the matches will be at 3pm on the following day.

Promoted Gwelup Croatia host last season’s NPL runners-up Inglewood United, while Floreat Athena are at home to Balcatta.

Cockburn City take on Perth Glory at Dalmatinac Park, ECU Joondalup meet Armadale and Rockingham face Sorrento.

This season’s competition will be played over a new format:

  • All teams will play each other once over the first 11 rounds

  • The league will then be split into a top six and a bottom six. Competition points will not be carried over

  • Each team will then face the other sides in their half of the split over the following five weeks

  • The 2020 league champions will be the side who finish first in the top six

  • There will then be a finals series involving the teams who finish first, second and third in the top six and side top of the bottom six

All first team and Under 20s matches in the men’s NPL will be live streamed on the Football West Facebook and YouTube pages.
