Well done to all the girls and boys out on the field today representing MJFC.
Mitcham under 9 Black vs Mooroolbark Green
We played away at Kiloran Reserve today. Our 2 captains today were Ethan R (Captain Courageous) and Harry. They both had terrific games and lead from the front. Our medalists were Michael (The Smiling Assassin) for some great running play and Jack (The Package) for extreme courage. Jack had to come off twice with a sore shoulder but went straight back on each time. Our Zagame award went to Liam who is another player that has benefited from the new 9x9 format and played well out of the middle. The milkshake went to Zach who was in everything today. Ayrton won our Fish & Chip award for another great game. With the 9x9 format, one of the Mooroolbark teams appeared to be much better than the other but our 2 sides both played really well. Our run and carry was again fantastic and when I looked at either one of our teams I saw them run the ball end to end. A high scoring day due to our run and ability to find space and hit targets. Another 27 goal haul for the day. Go Blacks

U10 Yellow: Lilydale Gold v Mitcham Yellow
Today the Mitcham U10 Yellow team played against Lillydale Gold.
A strong opposition this week with some bigger boys however we tackled and pressured the opposition for the four quarters.
A special mention to Rohan Hill for being awarded best player by the opposition and Charlie Orpwood for being awarded the Mitcham Medal. Encouragement awards were also given to Sam Miskimmin, Kieran Puls and Darcy Poynter for their great efforts throughout the game.
Let's have a good training session this week and come out firing against Mooroolbark.
Go Tigers !

Mitcham v Heathmont
We took on a determined Heathmont desperate to open their account for the season. It was an arm wrestle in the first half but after we watched the mums kick for glory at half time, we turned on a show for our special ladies in the second and ran away with a good win by playing exciting and accountable footy. Congratulations to Tracey Ewison on winning the time honored and prestigious "Mothers Day Mongrel Punt" and thanks to all the mums who particpated and shared your day with us.
Best Players: W Aujard, G Gonzalez, P Nemsow, A Koem, W Serong, L Gencarelli

Mitcham 17-7 (109) under 13A vs Blackburn 0-1 (1)
We had Blackburn at Walker Park, they played defensively straight up by playing 2 players behind the ball. Our ball use could have been better at times but it was pleasing to see the boys sort out our ball movement. Our on field leaders implemented the change showing leadership beyond their years. We rotated the boys around in the second half providing the boys with more opportunities. Our run and carry was excellent along with our contested pressure. Well done boys.
Best Players: Peter, Lachlan, Hudson, Aiden, Hamish, Leo, Ryan O , Jack B
Goals: Peter C 6 , Hudson G 3, Ryan O' 2 , Hamish G 1, Aiden P 1, Noah S 1, Ryan P 1, Luca O 1, Jack B 1,
Mitcham under 15 10-13 (73) v. Coldstream 3-10 (28)
Today's result came from a complete game by all players involved. We were able to continually pressure the opposition and then work in numbers to move the ball forward. The hardwork from Cal, Connor, both Fletchers, Sheraz and Joel through the middle of the ground to harrass and chase and then, work together to move the ball forward was fantastic. Down back Jasper, Mac, Pat, Alwyn and Dan N. consistently stood up under pressure to clear the ball and stop the opposition from scoring. Up forward Mason, Jules, Raph, James and Josh took the game on and competed to give us every opportunity to kick goals. Well done to all the boys on a great effort!
Best Players: Cal, Connor, Dan N., Jack, Jules, Mason, Raph
Goals: Jack 2, Raph 2, DT 2, Denzell 2, James, Austin
