MICHAEL MACLEAN NAMED ARAFURA GAMES NT MEN’S HEAD COACH
Basketball Northern Territory are pleased to announce the appointment of Michael MacLean as Head Coach of the Northern Territory Men’s Team that will participate in the 2019 Arafura Games from 30 April to 4 May 2019.
Michael brings a wealth of experience, over many years, to the position as a player and Coach including his latest role as the Assistant Coach of the Northern Territory Under 20 Men. Michael has also occupied the role of player and Coach of the Tracy Village Jets League Men’s team and co-captain of the Darwin Men’s representative team that participated in the Johor Tournament in Malaysia in 2015.
On his appointment Michael said “whenever you get the chance to represent the Northern Territory it is certainly a great honour. I’ve been fortunate enough to do this in a number of sports, but basketball is one of my true passions, playing the game all through my junior years here in Darwin and then in Melbourne, with the Melbourne Tigers. I have been lucky to have a played under some really great coaches and I look forward to bringing this experience to the Northern Territory Senior Men’s Head Coach position for the Arafura Games.”
Basketball Northern Territory congratulates Michael on his appointment and look forward to working with him in the lead in to the Games.
Basketball Northern Territory will call for applicants for the position of Assistant Coach in the coming days.
