In perfect conditions on McAllister Oval, Royal Park, it was the Canada Northern Lights too strong for the Australian IM women's team in a colorful encounter.
The Canadian team began well with numerous shots on goal despite being inaccurate and kicking six behinds in the first quarter.
Australia made the most of their opportunities, also kicking a goal and looking much improved as we enter the second week of the tournament. This showed in the second quarter with both teams breaking even for a goal each.
A few injuries in the second half to Australia seemed to open up the game with the Canadian side running out the match better scoring another two goals while holding their rivals scoreless.
Standout performers for Canada were Erin Loughnane, who has been very good all tournament and Caitin Kidd who was influential around the packs.
For the Aussie girls, Natalee Daylight (2 goals) was the best and she was well supported by Jess Paulic and her sister Cherita.
Canada v Aust IM
