AFL Canada has FIVE grant classifications:

1. General Grants

General grants shall be focused on developing and expanding the game in a particular region (i.e. essential equipment, development of permanent facilities, clinics and junior development). Grants are not intended for ancillary equipment, wages, field rental, uniforms or consumables.  Applicants should consider contributions from other sources (i.e. matching funds) and consider setting KPIs related to grant applications,
particularly with regard to ongoing grants

Covid affected most teams/leagues in 2020. A major focus for all clubs will be retaining/regaining players. AFL Canada wants to encourage clubs to consider how projects that can be funded through the General Grants program can integrate and expand those membership goals for 2021.
