Player Centred Coaching workshop - 8th October

A good coach should focus on meeting the needs of your individual players above your own.  If you're a coach who's keen to learn more about this type of Player Centred Coaching philosophy and how to employ it successfully, come along to our next coaching workshop held at the Hataitai Netball Pavilion.

Player Centred Coaching allows you to gain an understanding of the importance of reflective practice and how to use it to positively impact both coach and player experience and performance.  Learn about leadership styles and the philosophy behind getting the best out of your players by questioning to test their understanding and to gain their buy-in by asking for feedback.  Also learn how to implement “Teaching Games for Understanding” to take charge of creating your own fun games and learning activities to further add to your coaching toolkit.

While this workshop is geared towards the netball code and is Netball New Zealand accredited, general concepts can be applied to all manner of individual and team sports.  We therefore welcome attendees from other sporting codes should there be interest.  We'd like to help you prepare as best you can to allow both you and your team to have a highly enjoyable learning experience for seasons to come.

These courses are designed for your own personal coach development and allow you to pick and choose topics of interest aimed at teaching you the best techniques, allowing you to network and share ideas with other like-minded coaches and expand your knowledge to become the best coach you can be.  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and also offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
