4-in-1 Coach Workshop Weekend - 10 & 11 March

Pressed for time but keen to absorb all the coaching knowledge you can pre-season?  Here's one way to maximise your time!  Sign up for four workshops that cover the key areas of the court - Defence, Attack, Shooting and Centre Pass!

If you're a coach who's keen to upskill and expand your netball know-how here's your chance to make the most of your off-season for your own personal development.  Why not attend some coaching courses aimed at teaching you the best techniques, sharing ideas and supplying you with the right knowledge to be the best coach you can be?  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and even offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

This Workshop Weekend offers the following four topics - pick and choose what interests you or attend them all!

Defence which takes an "attacking defence" focus.  Covers phases of defence, understanding how to intercept a pass or create an intercept while marking one on one and reflect on how players make decisions while on defence.

By the end of the workshop coaches should be able to:
* Explain and demonstrate phases of defence.
* Demonstrate an understanding of how to intercept a pass or create an intercept while marking one on one.

Attacking Fundamentals covers points for a variety of passes and develops an understanding for which pass is best in various situations.  Explore passing from right and left side equally well along with passing and catching elements.  Also focuses on understanding learning styles and developing player self-awareness.

By the end of the workshop coaches should be able to:
* Review the fundamental ball and movement skills and have the ability to pass from the right and left side equally well.

* To explore the concept of attack and what skills are required to execute attacking play effectively.

Shooting provides a detailed outline of coaching points and sequential steps involved in a successful shot. Learn activities that will assist the development of shooters including skill correction, shooting roles and movement including rebounding.  Gain wider understanding of the GA vs GS positions.

On defence shutting down the oppositions first and second phase ball

By the end of the workshop coaches should be able to:
* Understand the game principles that support the tactics for centre pass attack and defence. This includes taking into consideration the skills required.
