Conveying messages comes with a lot of responsibility and requires plenty of practice!  As a wise person once said - you can have brilliant ideas but if you can't get them across, your ideas won't get you anywhere.

If you're a coach who's keen to upskill and expand your netball know-how here's your chance to make the most of your off-season for your own personal development.  Learn the art of effective communication techniques, how they tie-in with people management and conflict resolution.

Why not attend some of our coaching courses aimed at teaching you the best techniques, sharing ideas and supplying you with the right knowledge to be the best coach you can be?  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and even offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

Our next course on offer is Communication & Managing Others which focuses on tools and systems to assist coaches with effective communication techniques and how best to utilise these to get the best out of people within a team environment.  Spend time surrounded by like-minded coaches discussing the benefits of one-dimensional communication vs multimedia, the unique perspective gained from individual interpretation, how to convey ideas more effectively, the art of talking vs listening as well as people management and conflict resolution tips.

We welcome you to attend this handy learning opportunity suitable for coaches who have already completed the Player Centred Coaching course and are keen to build on the basics - let us help you add more tricks to your coaching toolkit.

*If you may have missed attending Player Centred Coaching (PCC) please still feel free to get in touch to register as an exception can be given so long as you intend to complete PCC at the next available opportunity.

More about the Netball NZ Coach Accreditation Pathway

Suitable for all levels – those who are first-timers and those with plenty of years experience seeking fresh ideas.

This course lies within the new series of compulsory courses that contribute towards achieving the Community Coach Award I (CCA I).  It can also be completed by those with a particular interest in expanding their knowledge in this area.  Player Centred Coaching should first be completed prior to attending however if please get in touch to discuss options further.

Those already mid-way through completing the five compulsory modules that make up the former Community Coach Award (CCA) may still continue to do so before the 31st of January 2017.  These modules include Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Team Building, Skill Analysis and Planning.

From 31st January 2017 onwards the following changes will take effect:

Community Coach Award I (CCA I) is the second step and consists of 10 technical modules: Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Planning, Skills Analysis, Team Building, Selecting, Balls Skills, Attack 1, Defence 1, Shooting.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Community Coach Award II (CCA II) follows on from CCA I with seven additional tactical modules: Fit for the Season, Game Analysis, Mental Skills, Tournament Planning, Through Court, Centre Pass, Circle Work.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Performance Coach Qualification (PCQ) forms the next step on from CCA II with seven further additional modules: Enhancing Performance, Advanced Mental Skills I, Advanced Skill Acquisition I, Advanced Performance Planning, Advanced Mental Skills II, Advanced Skill Acquisition II and Advance Game Analysis.  Coaches must also be actively coaching for a minimum of 2 years at U17/U19/Premier Club level and above.  They must also undertake a Coach Development Plan, Practical Observations/Assessments and further online and ongoing learning.

Those wishing to progress from the former CCA onto PCQ will need to complete Fit for the Season, Mental Skills and Game Analysis prior to 31st January 2017 as well as meet the minimum requirement of 2 years coaching at U17/U19/Premier Club level in order to be eligible for entry.

All the best in preparation for the season ahead!
