Netball NZ Coaching Courses - September-December 2016

Netball  Central  Zone  oversee the delivery of the Netball  New Zealand coaching  modules and are pleased to offer the following dates and modules held  throughout the Wellington region  as  part  of  the  formal  Netball  NZ  Coach Development Framework.

These courses provide a fantastic opportunity to upskill your knowledge-base and network with like-minded coaches.  Those interested in gaining nationally recognised Netball NZ accreditation for your coach development efforts may like to consider progressing towards achieving the following newly revamped nationally recognised awards:

Foundation Coach Award (FCA) is the first introductory step for junior level coaches.  Consists of competing Junior Coordinator Workshop, Year 1&2 Star Helper Workshop, Year 3&4 Coach Workshop, Year 5&6 Coach Workshop, Year 7&8 Coach Workshop, Player Centred Coaching.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Community Coach Award I (CCA I) is the second step and consists of 10 technical modules: Player Centred Coaching, Communication & Managing Others, Planning, Skills Analysis, Team Building, Selecting, Balls Skills, Attack 1, Defence 1, Shooting.  Includes further online and ongoing learning.

Community Coach Award II (CCA II) follows on from CCA I with seven additional tactical modules: Fit for the Season, Game Analysis, Mental Skills, Tournament Planning, Through Court, Centre Pass, Circle Work.  Includes further online learning ongoing learning.

Performance Coach Qualification (PCQ - formerly Performance Coach Award/PCA) follows on from CCA II with seven additional modules: Advanced Mental Skills I & II, Advanced Skill Acquisition I & II, Advanced Game Analysis, Advanced Performance Planning, Enhancing Performance

High Performance Coach Development (HPCD) – follows on from PCQ and consists of six additional modules: Leadership, Performance coaching, Performance Planning, Systems & Structures, Strategy & Leadership, Learning & Development

It is not compulsory to start from Foundation - coaches with an interest in starting out at collegiate or senior level may opt to skip the Foundation level and enter at the Community Coach Award I.  The first compulsory module is Player Centred Coaching (PCC) which acts as the sole pre-requisite module. 

Once complete, coaches who would like to add to their coaching bag of tricks and broaden their knowledge are then welcome to pick and choose courses of interest at your leisure and at a location that appeals to you. 

After Player Centred Coaching, modules may be completed in any order.

Modules require a minimum of 6 and maximum of 16 coaches attending.
All registrations must be received before 48 hours prior to the module taking place.

Courses are typically scheduled throughout the Wellington region for the pre-season (February to April), mid-season (May to July) and off-season (September to December).

Netball Central Zone are responsible for distributing future dates for the Wellington region which are then publicised via Netball Central Zone and Centre websites as soon as they are made available.
