Seeking Assistant Coach & Team Manager for 2014 Wellington LFNC Team

Netball Wellington Centre seeks a Head Coach for our 2014 Wellington Lion Foundation Netball Championship Team

 

 

 

Netball Wellington Centre is soon to compile a region-wide team to compete in the national Lion Foundation Netball Champs (LFNC - previously known as the NPC).

 

We have just appointed the Head Coach role for the Wellington Team and are delighted to welcome Dion Te Whetu into the role.  Dion has been coaching both men and women's netball for a number of years at NZ Rep, Provincial and Club level in Christchurch, Southland and most recently Wellington.  He is currently the coach of SMOG 1 competing in our Regional Super League.  We wish him all the very best in his role.

 

To assist Dion, we are now requesting interest in the following supporting roles within the LFNC Team Management:

Assistant Coach

Team Manager 

 

These are both volunteer positions which provide a fantastic opportunity to further develop yourself. Travel and accommodation will be covered to attend away fixtures and tournaments and you will receive full support and admiration from the Netball Wellington Centre throughout the campaign.

A job description for the primary care/physio role will not be released at this stage but expressions of interest are welcome.

The LFNC campaign runs for around 11 weeks in total.  Please find an indication of key commitments for the upcoming 2014 LFNC Season detailed below (some dates are still to be confirmed)

Wellington LFNC Representative Team Commitments – some dates still to be confirmed

  • LFNC Trials Tuesday 22nd July, Sunday 27th July & Tuesday 29th July 2014 - venue ASB Sports Centre
  • Match play against Men’s Team TBC
  • Pre-Season match/es against other LFNC teams prior to Lion Foundation National Champs TBC
  • Monday 29th September to Friday 3rd October 2014 – Lion Foundation National Champs held at The Trusts Arena in Waitakere
    Please note, travel departure date Sunday 28th September and return Friday 3rd October

LFNC Trainingssome flexibility for change possible subject to coach or venue availability
Scheduled for Tuesdays from 7.00pm to 9.00pm & Sundays 9.00am to 11.00am at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie.

Fundraising Commitmentsdates to be confirmed
There is an expectation the entire team will be involved in fundraising activities.
The NWC plan to liaise with the Team Manager once appointed to finalise details and dates.
Team Management and Players shall be advised once confirmed.

Interested applicants should please:

  • Complete a Team Management Application form in full and return as soon as possible.
  • Attend an interview for this position if required.
  • Attend regular meetings prior to and after team trials.
  • Attend all trials and pre-trials selections to confirm player selection (if also taking up a selector role).
  • Respond to requests from Netball Wellington Centre in a timely manner.

Applicants must also attend a debrief interview/meeting at the end of the representative season.
