2010 ADFBA National Combined Services Championships
CANCELLATION OF ADFBA NATIONAL
& INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS
'To the members of the Australian Defence Forces Basketball Association (ADFBA) I would like to take this opportunity to advise you that the Chairman of the Australian Defence Sports Council (ADSC) has notified me that the ADFBA is to cease planning for all current and future National and International Tours. This includes the running of the 2010 National Championships scheduled to be held at RAAF Williamtown over the period 27 Nov - 04 Dec 10. I have written to the New Zealand Air Force advising them of this directive.
While the 2010 ADFBA Championships have been cancelled and our future remains in limbo, I ask that you continue to play basketball and remind people that while there are some off court actions that need to be addressed, the sport of basketball is still alive and well in the Defence Forces. We do not look back, we look forward to when we next take the court.
Please be assured that your committee will be working closely with the ADSC to work through the issues that have led to this decision being taken.'
