We ran a similar editorial last season and it produced a lot of feedback so here is an updated version.
Like last year it again disappointing that the EDFL could not field ten teams in each of its junior grades in 2018. Our U/16s and U/18s competitions comprised of only seven and eight teams respectively this season.more

The EDFL 2018 fixture is now official.

Our season will start on Saturday 7th April. There will be two weekend breaks during the home & away season – the first on 19 May (for senior Interleague) and the second on 9th June (Queens Birthday).
The first week of the finals will commence on Saturday 25th August with the Grand Final on Saturday 15th September.more

Footy is back this week in what shapes as a new era for the EDFL. The league has reverted back to a 15 team one tiered competition, a new player point system with a maximum point allocation per club has been introduced and eight teams will play finals football.more

CORA LYNN WIN OPENING GAME OF EDFL SEASON

Well over three and a half thousand spectators witnessed the 2014 West Division premiers Cora Lynn defeat arch rivals Nar Nar Goon by 27 points in the opening match of the 2015 season at the Cobradome on Saturday night to retain the Cunningham Cup played between the two sides.more

EDFL FOOTBALL IS BACK THIS SATURDAY

The Ellinbank & District 2015 Football season will kick off this Saturday with a ‘catch up’ match between the 2014 West Division Premiers Cora Lynn against and arch rivals Nar Nar Goon at Cora Lynn.

The catch up match is required to cater for the uneven number of teams in the competition.
A full set of Round 1 matches will commence on 11 April.more

FIRST EDFL INFORMATION NIGHT FOR 2015 A BIG SUCCESS

The EDFL held a successful information night on Monday 2nd March at the Dusties social rooms at Western Park Warragul. It was the first of three information nights this season – the others to be held on Wednesday 3rd June and Wednesday 5th August.more

EDFL Board Vacancies - Expression of Interest

Clause 24.3 of the EDFL constitution states the names of those to express interest in a board position for the upcoming year must be posted on the League’s website at least seven days preceding the Annual General Meeting. The 2014 AGM will take place on Wednesday 26th November 2014.more

EDFL TO REVERT BACK TO A ONE TIER COMPETITION IN 2015

The EDFL will revert back to a one-tiered competition in 2015.

This decision was made by the EDFL Board of Management last week at a special meeting. It was based on information gathered over recent weeks and tabled by board members at the meeting.more

CORA LYNN WIN INAUGURAL WEST DIVISION PREMIERSHIP

Cora Lynn has won its second E&DFL premiership after an emphatic 78 point victory over Kooweerup in front of a large crowd at the Garfield Recreation Reserve on Saturday. The Cobras set up their win with a six goal to one second quarter to extend a two point lead at quarter time into commanding 33 point break at the half time interval.more

The EDFL U/16 and U/18 Interleague teams performed very well in the Mid-Gippsland Junior carnival held on Wednesday 9th July at Traralgon West. Both recorded victories against the Alberton and Mid Gippsland leagues interspersed with a loss to the Gippsland league – the winning league in both grades.more

The Ellinbank & District Football League chalked up two big wins over the Mid Gippsland Football League in the 2014 Worksafe Championships at Warragul on Saturday in front of a very good crowd. The EDFL U/18 opened proceedings with an emphatic 66 point victory before the seniors thrashed the MGFL by 89 points.more
