METEORETTES ADD BIG PIECE TO THE PUZZLE
The Global Product Search Meteorettes are extremely excited to announce the signing of Leeza Burdgess to their 2019 roster. The 6ft 4inch big centre is currently playing in the Czech Republic for BLK Praha and is currently averaging 10.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Burdgess is familiar with the QBL having played with the North Coast Seahawks in 2018 where she averaged 13.5pts and 9 rebounds.
Head Coach Ian Haughton said, “ When looking at our roster we felt the area we needed to improve in was our front court and we believe with Leeza’s signing we have been able to secure a player that will have a big presence inside the paint and give us some interior scoring options, as well as being able to change and block shots at the defensive end.” We are extremely happy that Leeza has decided to join the Global Product Search Meteorettes.
Burdgess is very happy about joining the Meteorettes and said, “I’m so excited to be the newest member of the Meteorette family! Mackay is a well coached and well run organization with a strong fan base. I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the club this upcoming season.”
Burdgess will arrive in Mackay in April after completing her current season in the Czech Republic.
