Day 2 - QUEST IN MACKAY Australia Day Carnival

While it was warm outside it was raining 3 pointers inside on day two of the QUEST IN MACKAY 2017 Australia Day Carnival hosted by Mackay Basketball at the McDonald’s Mackay Stadium.

In the Men’s and Women’s Division 1 games a number of current QBL and ex NBL players took to the court and showed the class it takes to play at the top level that kept the large crowd entertained.

Magpies Men’s Division 1 are currently undefeated after two games today on the back of the ‘human glove’ like defence of star junior Samson Haughton and the solid rebounding of new McDonald’s Mackay Meteor Coach Cameron Tragardh.

While basketball is a team game the one on one battle between Global Product Search Meteorettes Captain Jillian Haughton and new Townsville Flames recruit Rylie Smith was one of class ball control and entertainment.

The action will heat up tomorrow especially in the Men’s Division 3 in a very tightly contested competition with 18 teams aiming to play themselves into contention for Sunday’s finals.
