AFL calls time, other codes face shutdown

The AFL has been suspended, the AFLW season is over with no premiers and the ability of Australia's other professional football codes to play on through the coronavirus pandemic appears increasingly untenable.
A dramatic Sunday began with the federal government recommending a ban on "non-essential" domestic travel before several states announced they would implement shutdown procedures.

AFL, clubs stand down staff in shutdown

The AFL and its 18 clubs are sacking or standing down staff as the competition deals with the forced shutdown of the premiership season.
A day after the the competition was halted because of the coronavirus pandemic, about 80 per cent of the AFL's workforce has been stood down until May 31.

Peel Football and Netball League season to be postponed under WAFC rule.

The Peel Football and Netball League season has joined the growing list of local sports put on hiatus, with the WA Football Commission ruling to postpone any community competition until further notice.
The Commission released a statement on Tuesday announcing all senior and junior football statewide was to be put on hiatus until at least May 31 due to the spread of coronavirus.

Young gun Rams topple Baldivis to take out colts premiership

The Rockingham Rams got a glimpse into a bright future as their colts held steady to claim the 2019 premiership on Saturday morning.Three goals to Cody O'Donnell and a best afield performance from Jacob Hewitt spurred the Rams past Baldivis for a 9.13 (67) to 7.9 (51) victory. It's a sweet reward for the Rockingham youngsters, who suffered losses in the previous two colts grand finals.

Rams reserves hold off Mandurah to claim grand final victory

Rockingham's reserves capped of their 2019 season with a premiership while the Mandurah Mustangs' admirable finals campaign came to a close as the Rams clinched a victory at Rushton Park on Saturday the 21/09/2019.
