Messenger Halls Medal Preview

Dale Clarke examines the field in the race for the Halls Medal, which will be presented on August 30.

THE race for the Halls Medal - the top individual honour in SA women’s basketball - appears to be between three frontrunners.

South Adelaide’s Kerrin Truslove appears the best bet for the medal, but West Adelaide’s Nikita-Lee Martin has also had a sensational season, and Forestville’s Mia Newley has been all class.

The medal will be presented on Halls/Woollacott Medal night on August 30.

In Truslove’s favour is the fact that she has been the sole driving force behind South’s run towards finals, particularly its stellar second half of the year.
