Sabres Spell End for Lions

Central District's finals hopes are as good as dashed after losing to fifth-placed Sturt on Saturday night, 94-88 at Pasadena.

The Sabres held the lead all night, giving them a two-game gap on the bottom five to pencil themselves in for finals.

Having lost Marcus Ng to a knee injury in the first quarter, the Sabres covered for his loss with some deadly shooting.

Most significantly, Sturt hit unlikely three-point shots on the buzzer of each of the first three quarters.
