Warriors defeat Lions to cement 2nd place.

The 2nd placed Warriors were coming off a loss to 6th place Sturt and the strong away form of the 4th placed Lions had the game set for a blockbuster.

The first half was very much on schedule as dead even 19 point opening term lead into a 3-point lead for the Lions at the half time break.

It wasn’t until midway through the third that the Warriors took the game over.

A huge 24-12 point quarter for Woodville set them up for a comfortable win as Central Districts were left shell-shocked.

The Warriors continued their domination of the game in the fourth outscoring the Lions 20 to just 9.

Woodvilles Aaron Wyatt took over, scoring a huge 27 points for the night along with two rebounds and an assist.

Darren Ng had another strong game for the Warriors shooting 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds and two steals along the way.

Steve Pilkington was also crucial in the big win as he had the paint locked down grabbing 14 rebounds for the night along with nine points.

Christopher Clausen was the standout performer for the Lions raking in 16 points together with eight rebounds.

Kyle Miller also contributed with 15 points, two rebounds and three assists however the Warriors were just far too strong.

Jordan Centernera was ice cold not managing to convert a single field goal while at the same time picking up 5 personal fouls.

Woodville will now travel to Marion to take on 9th place South Adelaide while Central Districts head home to face 8th place Norwood.

Final Score: Woodville Warriors 86 – 66 Central Districts Lions
